Smore-gasbord Dice & How to Finish Them

Sand ‘em.

To begin your dice finishing adventure, you must start with sanding. I recommend picking up a set of Zona Wet/Dry Polishing Papers, which can be found on Amazon for about $13 for a set. You will start with the lowest “grit”, wetting the paper, and gently rubbing the face of the die you wish to sand in an infinity sign pattern. Repeat until the entire face looks uniform and matte, which usually takes about a minute.

Polish ‘em.

Continuing with the process, you infinity sign your dice from green all the way to the final white paper. I like to add a little Plastix Polish (also found on Amazon for around $7) to my final white paper instead of water to make it shine even more. After your dice are all polished, take a soft toothbrush and clean any residue left over from the process.

Ink ‘em.

After your dice are polished and clean, its time to pick a paint! I would recommend an acrylic paint. Fill the numbers in and swipe away any excess paint with a paper towel or your thumb!

Please know that working with resin dust can be unsafe without the proper safety equipment. Make sure to grab your gloves and a good mask or respirator!
